LINDAL, from the Occitan word meaning “threshold, principle of…,” emerged from the convergence of Occitan musical tradition and contemporary sound exploration.

LINDAL, from the Occitan word for “threshold, principle of…,” was born from the convergence of Occitan musical tradition and contemporary sound exploration. Chiara Cesano and Roberto Avena transform the melodies, rhythms, and sounds of Occitan music through sampling, loops, filters, and electronics, creating a personal language that strikes a balance between folk music, experimentation, and a contemporary dimension. The violin and accordion remain at the heart of the project, but are continually reworked and transformed, giving rise to an organic, powerful, and dynamic sound capable of maintaining a connection to tradition while simultaneously transcending its boundaries. LINDAL is a threshold between the past and the future: music rooted in tradition, exploration, and transformation.
