With *À CORPS & DES ACCORDS*, Nathalie Broyelle and Louis Dollé choose to transform their friendship into a space for creation and to bring their distinct artistic worlds together around a shared focus: the body. Present in both of their artistic practices, the body becomes here a language, a place of encounter and dialogue. But the two artists seek neither to merge their practices nor to erase what sets them apart. Quite the contrary: the exhibition is built upon their differences, their methods, their intuitions, and their respective perspectives. Creating as a duo means accepting being unsettled, surprised, and sometimes even frustrated. It means letting the other into a space that is usually solitary and accepting that one’s own artistic territory may be transformed as a result. From these points of agreement—but also from these points of disagreement—a shared work emerges that likely could not have existed separately. “We believe that it is precisely by embracing what sets us apart that we find what connects us: our humanity. ” Through their works, Nathalie Broyelle and Louis Dollé thus invite us to reflect on encounter, otherness, and what connects people beyond their individual differences. It is an invitation to remain true to oneself while reaching out to others, to exchange ideas, embrace difference, and allow oneself to be surprised.
