Description
The exhibition “Marine Biodiversity on the French Riviera” showcases three years of work by scientists, academics, organizations, and ocean enthusiasts, which culminated in the creation of an atlas.
Môle des Pêcheurs.
This magnificent exhibition, created by Naturdive and Les Aquanautes, will celebrate our marine heritage!
The mosaic of habitats rich in nursery grounds, the importance of Posidonia seagrass beds, and the great fragility of these ecosystems will also be highlighted.
This mapping provides a better understanding of the mosaic of habitats rich in nursery grounds, reveals the importance of Posidonia seagrass beds, and demonstrates the great fragility of these ecosystems (the disappearance of the giant pearl oyster, the increase in the grouper population, damage caused by ghost nets and excessive summer activity, etc.). A call for public participation and citizen science enabled the collection of all this data.
This exhibition will be on loan and hosted by Ms Nathalie Queyron from the Maison de l’Environnement in Nice.
This event is open to everyone!
Pupils from the ‘Lou Nistou’ and ‘Marinoni’ schools in Beaulieu-sur-Mer will also be in attendance.
Understanding the Mediterranean so we can better protect it is everyone’s responsibility!
