A contemporary dance residency performance as part of the Cie / TranS /’s “Les Inclassables #09” artist-in-residence program. This show was born out of frustration and a need: the need to tell the story of a young person’s inner struggle.
Through this solo performance, I wanted to let the body speak where words and the voice sometimes fall short. This performance was born out of frustration, out of a need: the need to tell the story of the inner struggle of a young person (of a generation) marked by hardship but determined not to be held captive by it. It is a dialogue between pain and hope. Every dance movement, every path across the stage, every word evokes a fall, resistance, rebellion—but above all, a determination to transform lived experience into strength and resolve. Here, dancing becomes an act of survival, a way to regain control of one’s own story. This performance is personal, but I hope it resonates with everyone as a defiant response to adversity, because we all have a past—and the power to reshape it. This is not a rejection of the past, but a choice not to let it dictate a predetermined future. I dance to say: I am on my way; I choose the light. Beyond the performance itself, this is a project of social and artistic engagement, conceived as a catalyst for personal and collective transformation. If a body can rise again on stage, then others can do so too—in life, in society. That is why the project includes a series of workshops open primarily to people in disadvantaged situations: marginalized youth, people with disabilities, and isolated or vulnerable populations.
