At the crossroads of French and Italian traditions, this program highlights two major figures of the 17th century: Marc-Antoine Charpentier and Giacomo Carissimi.

Featuring a soprano, basso continuo, and choir, the ensemble invites audiences to discover rare—and sometimes previously unperformed—works in which the expressive richness of the text reveals the full depth of Baroque aesthetics. As the resident orchestra of the Centre Culturel de La Providence, the ensemble La Société de Musique Ancienne also presents concerts and educational programs designed to introduce audiences—particularly young people—to early music and historical instruments.
