Description
Based on a work by Emmanuel Darley.
Adapted by Thierry de Pina.
Prix de la Création – Scènes d’Automne Festival 2025.
He fled his country and tells us about his harrowing journey. He made it all the way here. But here, the long-coveted promised land—the “land of happiness,” as they say—reveals its true face: one of moral and material misery.
You have to work, send money back home, no matter what, even if your family gradually forgets you. He was from there; he came here, and he can never leave this place.
With *Pays Bonheur*, Thierry de Pina presents his third adaptation of a text by Emmanuel Darley and embodies “a narrative of exile and light, a journey toward humanity, where borders fade and dreams continue to speak.”
