Pink October: The CCAS Steps Up Its Efforts

Every year, Pink October—the national awareness campaign aimed at raising public awareness about breast cancer screening, which affects nearly one in eight women—marks the beginning of fall. In France, nearly 61,000 new cases are diagnosed each year. In 60% of cases, the cancer can be cured if detected early. With this in mind, the city of Roquebrune Cap-Martin, through its Municipal Social Action Center, is joining this national initiative by organizing a series of local events aimed at providing information and promoting prevention regarding breast cancer. The town is decked out in pink to raise awareness about the risks of breast cancer. Throughout the month, the Jean-Gioan Esplanade, the Château, and the Fort du Cap-Martin will be illuminated in pink. At the same time, municipal employees will wear pink ribbons, and leaflets will be made available to the public at various service centers to raise awareness about the risks of breast cancer.
