Description
Découverte du patrimoine agropastoral en pierre sèche.
Set off to discover the landscapes and traditional skills that tell the agro-pastoral history of the Préalpes d’Azur!
Explore the dry-stone heritage that bears witness to a long history of pastoralism and agriculture on the limestone plateaus of the Préalpes d’Azur.
This hike invites you to uncover dry-stone treasures—such as *restanques* (terraced walls), *clapiers* (stone piles), *calades* (stone-paved paths), sheepfolds, enclosures, and small stone huts—all of which serve as remnants of a heritage shaped by generations of farmers and shepherds, a tradition that remains alive to this day.
The excursion will be led by mountain guide Jean Capitant and dry-stone waller Vincent Lugeux—a member of the French Federation of Dry-Stone Professionals—who will help you gain a deeper understanding of these structures and the role they play in our landscapes.
