The Côte d'Azur LGBTQIA+ Center welcomes Stella Rocha for a special event featuring her book "Allée de la Reine-Marguerite"
The Côte d'Azur LGBTQIA+ Center is pleased to welcome artist Stella Rocha on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., for a book signing and discussion in our library—open to everyone—featuring her book *Allée de la Reine-Marguerite: Memories of a Brazilian Woman in the Bois de Boulogne*, co-written with Yannis Ezziadi and published by Le Cherche Midi. The book was published on April 23, 2026.
Through these new event formats, the Côte d’Azur LGBTQIA+ Center aims to highlight and give visibility to those who, through their life stories, their commitments, and their work, help convey powerful public messages and encourage us to reflect collectively.
Through a powerful and intimate narrative, Stella Rocha reflects on her journey as a Brazilian trans woman who arrived in Paris in the early 1990s. She recounts her arrival in France, her experience as a trans woman, prostitution, and her life’s journey. Her candid testimony, full of hope and solidarity, offers a unique perspective on the Bois de Boulogne and explores issues of visibility, dignity, marginalization, and violence. Stella Rocha performs regularly in Nice, a city she knows well.
The event will be followed by a Q&A session with the audience and a book signing. Books will be available for purchase on-site thanks to our partnership with the wonderful Nice bookstore Les Parleuses.
Also in partnership with the Prismart association and Éditions du Cherche-Midi.
