Richesses nocturnes : Soirée de la lune

As dusk sets in, Gigaro beach is transformed into a veritable open-air observatory. At the entrance to the Domaine du Cap Lardier, come and enjoy an evening dedicated to the Moon, the stars and the stories that people have been telling since time immemorial as they gaze up at the sky. In collaboration with Port-Cros National Park, the La Croix-Valmer Tourist Office is offering four events to explore the night in all its facets. Myths beneath the Milky Way – with Florent Beau Settle down beneath the starry sky and listen to the stories, myths and legends that have accompanied humankind in their discovery of the heavens. An invitation to look at the stars in a new light and to journey between imagination and astronomy. Meet-up with a Port-Cros National Park ranger Come and chat with a park ranger and discover the unexpected wonders of the night in protected natural areas. A special opportunity to gain a better understanding of nocturnal biodiversity and the challenges involved in preserving natural darkness. The eco-guides will take you on a journey to discover tales and stories from all corners of the world, inspired by the night, the stars, the Moon and the creatures that inhabit our imagination. Moon and Deep-Sky Observation Look up and immerse yourself in the vastness of the heavens! Using observation equipment, discover the Moon and explore the treasures of the deep sky. A fascinating experience for young and old alike, whether you’re an astronomy enthusiast or simply curious. An evening blending nature, science and imagination Set against the stunning backdrop of Gigaro and Cap Lardier, this evening offers the chance to reconnect with an unspoilt night sky and take the time to observe what we miss when the night is lit up by artificial lights.
