Description

Jean-Luc Jehan's work offers a poetic immersion that explores the tension between the infinitely large and the microscopic.
The work of Jean-Luc Jehan (Ivry-sur-Seine) offers a poetic immersion that explores the tension between the infinitely large and the microscopic. His approach is based on meticulous line drawing, executed with an ultra-fine tube ink pen. Through a palette of reds, the artist delves into the heart of nebulae, transforming space into an experience of time. The patient accumulation of thousands of dots imbues each work with a numerical record of its creation time, spanning several weeks (from 27 to 56 days). From these cosmic landscapes emerge echoes of Italian Renaissance painting, establishing a dialogue across the ages. Finally, these structures, accumulated like coral, oscillate between appearance and disappearance, offering a meditation on transience and matter. Starting September 5, La Maison Abandonnée will present some forty of his drawings.
