Description
TWO EVENINGS, TWO WORLDS, ONE EMOTION. By candlelight, voices will fill the Notre-Dame de l'Assomption Church for two performances where Mediterranean traditions will meet the great choral repertoire.
The program:
Saturday, December 5—Tenores di Orossei, Sardinian polyphonic music.
FIRST PART: Rostropovich-Landowski Conservatory Choir.
Lullabies by Arvo Pärt, “Christmas Lullaby” and “Candlelight Carol” by John Rutter
In Sardinia, song is passed down as a living memory. Voices come together in profound polyphonic chants, rooted in the island’s sacred and folk traditions. Prayers, procession songs, and village repertoires reveal a rich Mediterranean heritage, sustained by the strength of the community and the bond between generations.
