Description
Combining light and contemplation, this program explores the many facets of the “Salve Regina,” one of the most inspiring prayers in the Italian Baroque repertoire.
Bringing together works by Alessandro Scarlatti, his son Domenico, and Pergolesi, this program juxtaposes three artistic sensibilities, three compositional styles, and three visions of the same prayer.
Performed by soprano and alto voices, accompanied by a Baroque ensemble, these deeply intense pieces combine fervor, virtuosity, and emotion.
Please note: This concert is held off-site at the Church of Saint François de Paule, located at 9 rue Saint François de Paule.
