Description
Two powerful and sensitive creations in which the dancers celebrate connection, emotion and the strength of the collective through a profoundly human dance.
Presentation
For this program, the Ballet de l'Opéra de Nice brings together two sensitive and contrasting choreographic worlds, highlighting the dancers' commitment and the importance of being together.
World-renowned choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui has made his mark with a profoundly human style, nourished by artistic and cultural encounters. Today, as director of the Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève, he develops a fluid, musical dance, a crossroads of influences. With Loin, he explores the themes of distance, memory and the bond between people, in a playful, poetic space where bodies dialogue and seek each other out.
Another figure on the international choreographic scene, Brazil's Fernando Melo, is renowned for his physical and expressive writing, attentive to the emotional dimension of movement. Today, his creations are performed by numerous companies around the world. In his creation for the Ballet de l'Opéra de Nice, he composes a piece where fragility and resistance meet, revealing all the power of the collective.
