The new exhibition at the Transartcafé "Stampa" will bring together the engravings and drawings of Alain Combier from Antibes and Michel Joyard from Vence.
Alain Combier: “Nothing is realistic, but everything is technically feasible,” the artist-engineer points out, gesturing to his preparatory drawings, which resemble a builder’s sketches. For the ambiguity of the imagination, of dreams, is countered by a rigorous perspective that deceives the eye, creating a plausible utopia (Nice-Matin).
Michel Joyard: His gestural, allusive, and referential figuration, naturally ironic, manages to capture the human figure in states of emotional reverie, sometimes engaged in confused activity, freely adopting the masks of the chimera or animality.
