With this new project, Jef Roques takes us on a journey through the music that shaped his youth.
After years of playing jazz with a bebop flair, this accomplished musician has gravitated toward the style of Corsican guitarists—music that captivated him during long summer evenings.
To recreate that atmosphere, he has assembled a group of top-tier musicians from the PACA region—Philippe Brassoud (double bass), Benjamin Boutant (saxophones), and Alexandre Gaubert (guitar)—to present a varied program. The setlist ranges from the repertoire of Django Reinhardt to that of singer Charles Rocchi, along with a selection of French songs.
All of this is driven by a single guiding principle: let’s swing!
