Description
This event aims to explore the complex relationship between the evolution of our perception of nature and the growing emphasis on care in contemporary discourse. It seeks to draw connections between current debates on relativism.
This conference will explore the concept of “nature,” as analyzed by leading theorists such as Descola, Abram, Tsing, and Kohn, as well as the urgent calls for a nuanced understanding of the notion of “care,” advocated by thinkers such as Gilligan, Mol, Kleinman, and Nussbaum. Organized by the LAPCOS UPR 7278 research unit and the Department of Ethnology and Anthropology at the Université Côte d’Azur, it is held in collaboration with prestigious institutions, including the French Society of Ethnology (SEF), the International Society for Ethnology and Folklore (SIEF), and the FER-Eurethno network, associated with the Council of Europe.
