SECOND EDITION OF VOILES MARALPINES
INTERNATIONAL MEETING OF TRADITIONAL BOATS
Guest of honor: Cyprus. But also Irish and Italian boats.
Gathering of traditional boats in the roadstead of Villefranche-sur-Mer, on the initiative of the association "Une Yole pour Villefranche" in the Alpes-Maritimes department.
Born from the desire of a few enthusiasts of "old hulls", Latin sails and boats typical of our PACA region.
- 15/9: arrival of boats and installation of stands
- 9/16: at 2 p.m., the event opens with music and entertainment on the ground, and at sea, boat-to-boat races and a boat parade.
- on 17, 18 and 19/9, flotilla 1 will remain in the harbor, where entertainment will continue.
Flotilla 2 will leave the harbor to discover other ports, including Saint Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Beaulieu and Eze. This flotilla will return to Villefranche on 9/19 at the end of the day to take part in the European Heritage Days until Sunday evening.
- On 9/20, visits and events will be scheduled on the ground in our royal port, and sea trips will be offered on our boats.
This year, Cyprus will be the guest of honor, but we'll also be welcoming Irish and Italian ships.
Five days of entertainment in the Darse de Villefranche harbour
The Voiles Maralpines Village will be set up in front of the Port Royal's dry dock. It will feature stands from the Conseil Départemental and numerous maritime and cultural associations.
Tours of the biggest boats will be offered in the interval between sailings, as well as meetings with the crews.
Entertainment and choirs will add to the Village's festive atmosphere.
The Darse marine carpenters will be showcasing their expertise.
Superb photos will showcase the underwater archaeology campaigns in Villefranche harbor.
Sea-themed activities for children.
Several navigations will take place in the harbor near the Darse, allowing visitors to admire the evolution of boats from land.
Conferences on maritime topics will be held in the citadel's auditorium.
The public can come and admire these witnesses to the past, maintained and renovated by enthusiasts, and share a festive moment.
