Description
The first performance of the “La Renaissance hors les murs” cultural season: discover *The Barber of Seville*, Beaumarchais’s famous masterpiece, in a lively and offbeat production.
A comedy full of wit, misunderstandings, and twists and turns—come see it in Saint-Tropez!
In Seville, in the early 19th century, Rosine, a young orphan, is held captive by her guardian, Dr. Bartholo, aided by his greedy right-hand man, Basile. Destined for a forced marriage at age 18, she falls in love with a mysterious lover who courts her in secret. He is none other than Count Almaviva, who—with the help of his former valet, the mischievous Barber Figaro—will attempt to rescue her...
Following Labiche’s *L’Affaire de la rue de Lourcine*, the Modits theater company returns with a whirlwind adaptation of *The Barber of Seville*, in which the characters are by turns passionate, in love, mad, neurotic, frightened, and blinded by love. As a tribute to Rossini, the acting gives way to musical interludes that punctuate the work.
