A small 40-seat theater in the Libération neighborhood of Nice. Performances and dramatic readings on weekends. Theater and improvisation classes for all ages, Monday through Thursday.

The Théâtre du Bocal is an independent community theater with 40 seats, located at 6 rue Prince Maurice in Nice, in the Libération neighborhood, just a stone’s throw from the L1 tram line. It has been open since 2006. The program features a mix of our own productions and those of the companies we host: from comedy to contemporary theater, staged readings, improvisational cabaret nights, and occasionally jazz. Le Bocal is also a theater school. On Wednesdays for younger children: introductory classes for ages 4 and up, workshops for children ages 7 to 10, and classes for preteens and teens ages 11 to 14. In the evenings for adults: theater and improvisation classes have been offered since 2024. Each workshop presents its work on our stage at the end of the season. The first class serves as a trial session: it’s free.
