Description
The city (civitas) of Antipolis was not limited to the town that existed during the Roman period, but encompassed a vast administrative territory of which Antibes was then the capital.
This lecture does not aim to provide an overview of the current state of knowledge regarding this territorial entity, but rather focuses on a few notable monuments in Antipolis: its aqueducts—especially the Bouillide Aqueduct—and two prestigious mausoleums: the “Trophy” of La Brague and the Mausoleum of the Golden Goat in Biot.
