For Beaulieu-sur-Mer, this national anniversary resonates with a history closer to home, embodied by the Achéron (A613), a support ship for mine-clearing divers that the town has sponsored since July 2, 1988.
Built in Cherbourg and commissioned on April 21, 1987, the Achéron is based in Toulon. Approximately 42 meters long, this vessel is designed to accommodate, support, and deploy mine-clearing divers in demanding underwater environments. It serves as an essential operational and logistical platform for their missions.
