A perfumer in Grasse since 1926, Fragonard has a deep connection with the scents of the Côte d’Azur.

From the sea mist along the shores of the Mediterranean to the flower-filled hills of the hinterland, everything serves as a source of inspiration for the creation of Fragonard’s fragrances, in the great tradition of French perfumery. It is therefore only natural that Côte d’Azur France has joined forces with Maison Fragonard to bring you these unique creations, which celebrate the iconic fragrances of the South and the expertise of Grasse, recognised by UNESCO since 2018.

Fragonard Perfumes was founded in 1926. The choice of the name of the famous painter from Grasse, Jean-Honoré Fragonard (1732–1806), was a tribute that Eugène Fuchs, the company’s founder, wished to pay to the town of Grasse, which had welcomed him and his family.

The spirit of the company has been faithfully upheld by the three subsequent generations who have taken the reins of the business. On their initiative, new production and sales facilities were established in Grasse and Eze, as well as in Paris. It was Jean-François Costa who spearheaded the modernisation of the company.

A great art lover, during the 1970s he brought together his collections of objects linked to the history of perfumery to establish the Grasse Museum and two museum-boutiques in Paris. This initiative contributed to Fragonard’s already flourishing prosperity whilst adding a cultural dimension to the business.

Today, it is his daughters, Agnès and Françoise, who steer the company’s future. Fragonard’s artisanal expertise lives on through the generations, offering perfumes and beauty products of the highest quality.
