When chef Luc Salsedo, then a restaurateur in Nice, improvised some crispy crisps using his leftover socca, his first customers were unanimous in their praise. He then perfected his recipe until he achieved a crisp with the authentic taste of socca – original, unique and made from 100 per cent natural ingredients: Socca Chips® were born! Ten years after their creation, Luc Salsedo and Côte d’Azur France have joined forces to produce a limited edition of the original Socca Chips®.
Every year, the original packaging of Côte d’Azur France Socca Chips® is unveiled in a new edition illustrated by Côte d’Azur artist Éric Garence. Colourful, vibrant and instantly recognisable, his creations pay tribute to a place, a scene from everyday life or an iconic symbol of the Côte d’Azur. Nice naturally takes pride of place, as the historic birthplace of socca and Socca Chips®. From the Cours Saleya market to the ‘pointus’ in the port of Nice, via the Arènes de Cimiez, each new illustration captures a different facet of the region and transforms the packaging into a true gourmet keepsake. It’s an original way to collect, year after year, the landscapes and stories of the Côte d’Azur.

Socca Chips® are made from 100 per cent natural ingredients that are emblematic of the Côte d’Azur’s culinary heritage, notably chickpea flour and olive oil! Produced near Nice and widely available both regionally and nationally, Socca Chips® allow both the curious and food lovers to (re)discover the unique flavour of socca, this delicious speciality of the Côte d’Azur.
Socca Chips® are now available in several pack sizes and four flavours: plain, pepper, rosemary and garlic. They are also available in an organic plain version. Under the ‘Créations Luc Salsedo®’ brand, the chef continues, over time, to devise new products inspired by the fine culinary traditions of the Côte d’Azur.
“Renewing our partnership with the Côte d’Azur France brand was a natural choice for me, as its commitment to supporting local producers and artisans is very much in line with our own approach. With Socca Chips®, I’m continuing the journey of our culinary traditions, which are so rich and renowned throughout the world. Among them, socca – our flatbread made from chickpea flour and cooked over a wood fire – embodies sharing and conviviality, and is a real treat for the taste buds! The same goes for Socca Chips®, which, through this new limited edition, invites you to experience the warmth and joie de vivre of the Côte d’Azur. Could this also be what happiness is all about?”
Luc SALSEDO, Managing Director of Socca Chips®
