5 good reasons to go on a mountain holiday this summer

Fancy some fresh air, nature and a touch of adventure? This summer, head to Roubion! This hilltop village in the Alpes-Maritimes, just an hour from the coast, offers a perfect blend of the great outdoors, gentle thrills and authentic charm. Here are five good reasons to set off and explore this mountain village in the Alpes-Maritimes.

1. Roubion: the perfect getaway, combining adventure with a relaxed way of life

Perched on the cliff like an eagle’s nest, Roubion quickly makes you forget the hustle and bustle of the coast. Here, the cool mountain air, the silence of the valleys, the cobbled streets, the famous painted doors and the endless panoramic views envelop you in a true sense of freedom.

From Mountain Cart rides, the Bike Park, Via Ferrata, hiking, rock climbing, electric mountain biking and even dog walks, every day becomes a new adventure in the heart of unspoilt nature.

Then comes time for a more leisurely pace: a stroll through the medieval village, exploring the painted doors, a visit to the Church of Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel, the chapels and wash houses, or a gourmet break on a terrace overlooking the peaks.

And to extend the experience, join us on Sunday 4 October 2026 for the traditional Roubion Transhumance, one of the largest pastoral events in the Alpes-Maritimes, which attracts several hundred visitors every year.

Spending the summer in Roubion means savouring the perfect balance between nature, adventure and the art of living.
